Alex Webb Alex (Photo: Production BBC/Shine TV)Īlex, 25 is a head chef in a restaurant in a market town Essex – he began working in that same restaurant as a teenager as a pot washer.Īfter years working in a range of restaurants and picking up skills, including classically training as an apprentice at the Savoy Hotel in London, before returning to where he began, as head chef. He was inspired to be a chef by his brother and moved from Nepal to India at the age of 15 and lived there for 10 years before moving to the UK. Santosh, is a 34-year-old Nepalese head chef at fine dining Indian restaurants, The Cinnamon Collection, which also serve Nepalese food. He now runs his own gastropub in Didcot called The Fat Frog and works about six days a week. He has been a chef for almost 24 years, starting out working at a local restaurant when he was just 16 years old. Dave Wells Dave (Photo: Production BBC/Shine TV)ĭave, 39, is a head chef from Didcot. He trained at Redbridge College and has worked at restaurants including The Wolseley and Chiltern Firehouse. His bio on the restaurant’s website said Victor, who was born in Nigeria, “aims to provide a refreshing insight into West African cuisine with innovative techniques whilst showcasing the rich cultural heritage he has grown to love from childhood as well as through his travels”. Victor, 25, is the head chef working in a pan-African restaurant in London called Talking Drum. She discovered her love of cooking as a chemistry student, becoming a chef after finishing university. She trained with Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, and also set up a food consultancy called Nutshell.
